Matrimony Sacrament

Through the sacramental experience of matrimony, a man and a woman are united in a loving covenant as husband and wife. Married couples are called, therefore, by the people of God to be visible signs of the ongoing, loving relationship that exists between the risen Jesus of Nazareth and the community that follows him, the church. According to church law, certain conditions must be met in order for a Christian marriage to be considered valid.

After scheduling a date for your wedding at Sacred Heart, those preparing for the sacrament of Marriage are asked to call the parish office to schedule an appointment with the priest at least six months before the anticipated wedding date.  A checklist of items that need to be taken care of before the wedding takes place can be found here.
