SACRED HEART PRAYING HANDS PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
In this ministry, we knit, crochet, or sew shawls that will be gifted to people in need- to the elderly, new babies, people suffering from illness, loss of a loved one, as well as anyone in need of prayers and healing. As the volunteer works on the shawl, prayers are said for the receiver.
Shawls can be created and presented for the Parish for distribution, or can be made for someone specific. blessed by the group and distributed personally. It is your choice.
Not only does this ministry reach out to those in need of prayers, but serves as a special spiritual practice for the makers of these shawls. Prayerful meditation while creating these special gifts provides a unique opportunity to reflect and connect with God.
Join Us:
Anyone interested in this ministry is welcome to join us. The group meets every First Saturday of the month from 10am-12pm for camraderie, knitting, crocheting, lessons, and prayer.
Don’t knit or crochet?……No problem! Many of the group are willing to teach anyone who is interested.
Even if you aren’t a member of the Sacred Heart Parish, you’re welcome to join us!
Thoughtful donations have allowed us to begin a stash of yarn, knitting needles, and crochet hooks, patterns, and pattern books. If you need yarn or needles, you are welcome
